Oats is a multispecialty grain which has been used by healthy food lovers all across the globe. In India also this grain has gradually made its place in every household in past few years. Tikkis are an all time favorite snacks in India. Everybody loves tikkis but traditional tikkis are made up od potatoes and are fried making them little unhealthy for weight watchers like me. I always try to find less oily options as I tend to gain weight quickly. Today I combined many healthy ingredients in this recipe One is Oats, Carrots, Paneer( Indian Cottage cheese),boiled potatoes and milk. Yes boiled Potatoes have no fat and they can fulfill our daily carb need too. Recipe courtesy Master Chef Tarla Dalal( one of my favorite)
The tikkis are crispy from outside and soft from inside. They can be served with green chutney or with tomato ketchup.

OATS TIKKI
INGREDIENTS:
For The Tikkis
1 cup quick cooking rolled oats
1/4 cup grated low-fat paneer (cottage cheese)
1/4 cup grated carrot
1/2 cup boiled , peeled and mashed potatoes
2 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania)
1 tsp lemon juice
1 1/2 tsp ginger-green chilli paste
1 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp garam masala
1 tsp dried mango powder (amchur)
salt to taste
Other Ingredients
1/4 cup low-fat milk (99.7% fat-free) for coating
1/2 cup quick cooking rolled oats for coating
1 1/2 tsp oil for greasing and cooking
For the tikkis
- Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well
- Divide the mixture into 6 equal portions and roll out each portion into a 50 mm. (2”) flat round tikki.
- Dip each tikki in the milk and then roll them in oats till they are evenly coated from both the sides.
- Heat a non-stick tava (griddle) and grease it using 1/4 tsp of oil.
- Cook each tikki, using 1/8 tsp of oil, till they turn golden brown in colour from both the sides.
- Serve hot with healthy green chutney and Enjoy.
- Divide the mixture into 6 equal portions and roll out each portion into a 50 mm. (2”) flat round tikki.
